Frontier Ventures is excited to announce our investment in Ema, which recently emerged from stealth mode with $25 million in funding. Ema is pioneering the “Universal AI employee,” a groundbreaking solution poised to redefine the future of work through advanced AI-driven automation and efficiency.
Ema’s innovative approach leverages generative AI to handle a wide array of business tasks, enhancing productivity by automating routine processes. The company’s technology, which includes the Generative Workflow Engine™ and EmaFusion™ models, addresses the need for scalable and efficient AI solutions in modern workplaces. These tools emulate human responses and evolve with usage, providing high accuracy and robust data protection.
We were particularly impressed by the experienced team leading Ema. Surojit Chatterjee, the CEO and co-founder, brings a wealth of expertise from his previous roles as chief product officer at Coinbase and VP of Product at Google, where he led both the mobile ads and shopping businesses. Chatterjee has 40 patents in areas such as machine learning enterprise software and adtech. His co-founder, Souvik Sen, serves as the head of engineering and has an equally impressive background. Sen was the VP of engineering at Okta, overseeing data, machine learning, and devices, and prior to that, he was an engineering lead at Google, focusing on data privacy and safety, holding 37 patents.
Ema has already secured early traction, with customers like Envoy Global, TrueLayer, and Moneyview using its solutions for customer service and internal productivity applications. This early success, combined with the impressive list of investors backing Ema, including Accel, Section 32, Prosus Ventures, and notable individual backers like Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz, further solidified our decision to invest.
We believe that Ema is set to drive signifcant advancements in the AI sector, and we are eager to support their journey. Frontier Ventures looks forward to collaborating with Ema as they continue to develop and expand their capabilities, pushing the boundaries of AI-driven business solutions.
