Turing Secures $111M in Series E Funding to Expand AI Coding Capabilities

From TechCrunch

PALO ALTO, CA – March 7, 2025 – Turing, a key AI coding provider and a portfolio company of Frontier Ventures, has raised $111 million in its Series E round, doubling its valuation to $2.2 billion. The round was led by Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Berhad, with participation from AltaIR Capital, WestBridge Capital and Sozo Ventures. To date, Turing has raised $225 million.

With an ARR of approximately $300 million, up from $167 million at the time of pricing this round, Turing is growing rapidly while maintaining profitability. The new funding will accelerate its expansion into AI-driven use cases, reinforcing its position at the core of the AI ecosystem.

Turing started as a platform for hiring and vetting remote software engineers, but its trajectory changed in 2022 when OpenAI engaged the company to generate training code for improving LLM reasoning. CEO Jonathan Siddharth reflected on how the infrastructure he built for hiring coders placed Turing into the middle of the action. “I don’t think people knew how important software engineering tokens [would be] to teach an LLM to think and reason and code.”

Turing’s evolution into a major AI partner has been remarkable. Sumir Chadha, co-founder and managing partner at WestBridge, described his first encounter with the company: “When I first met them in 2018 my jaw dropped,” referring to how Siddharth revolutionized remote engineering hiring. Today, Turing’s AI expertise extends far beyond sourcing talent—it is shaping the future of AI itself.

Looking ahead, Turing is aggressively scaling R&D and go-to-market efforts across its three core business lines: AI-powered LLM development (Turing AGI Advancement), enterprise AI applications (Turing Intelligence), and its established talent-sourcing platform. As AI adoption accelerates, Turing is at the forefront, driving the next wave of AI innovation and reshaping how software is built.
